Wrest Park gets Poppy’s tail wagging

We were thrilled to hear that one of Poppy the Dalmatian’s favourite historic ‘spots’ is Wrest Park. She sent us this brilliant photo in front of the Archer Pavilion, from her Instagram handle @poppys_spot. Thanks Poppy!

Lauren takes in the views from Tintagel Castle

‘Tintagel Castle has to be top of the list’, wrote Lauren (@nytoanywhere), as she visited some of the most ‘Insta-worthy’ locations in Cornwall on her recent trip. It’s certainly hard to beat this view from the dramatic headland back towards the beach and Merlin’s Cave. Good choice, Lauren!

Alex steps back 5000 years at Castlerigg Stone Circle

Futher north, we find Alex (@alex.nhenderson) at Castlerigg Stone Circle in Cumbria, perhaps the most dramatic and picturesque stone circle in England. This atmospheric shot of the neolithic monument against the backdrop of Helvellyn and High Seat really took our breath away.

Mark’s autumnal view of Houghton House

It was ‘another day off, another English Heritage site’ for Mark (@reesm88), who shared this very autumnal photo of Houghton House in Bedfordshire. The shell of a 17th-century mansion, the site offers spectacular views and was reputedly the inspiration for the ‘House Beautiful’ in John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress.

Lily captures the Chinese Pavilion at Wrest Park

This beautiful shot of Wrest Park‘s Chinese Pavilion was posted by Lily (@lily_lawton_). Wrest Park is noted for its 92 acres of exceptional gardens, which took the gold prize at the Anglia in Bloom Awards 2017. This area of the gardens is particularly beautiful, with the Chinese Temple and bridge framed by the surrounding trees.

Kyle stands in the footsteps of Neolithic ancestors

We love this photo of Kyle (@digitalslomads) at one of the world’s most famous prehistoric sites – Stonehenge. The World Heritage Site attracts millions of people every year, to enjoy the spectacular landscape and imagine how daily life might have been 5000 years ago.

We wonder what Kyle is thinking here as he admires the ancient monument…
